Ryan Reynolds offers ‘congrats’ to Phil Parkinson on landmark achievement –
Ryan Reynolds has offered his “congrats” to Phil Parkinson after seeing Wrexham’s promotion-chasing manager join an exclusive coaching club.
Parkinson, who is now 57 years of age, first stepped into the dugout at Colchester in February 2003. He has spent the best part of 22 years prowling the touchline at clubs such as Hull, Charlton, Bradford, Bolton and Sunderland.
Reynolds, alongside fellow Hollywood co-owner Rob McElhenney, moved to acquire Parkinson’s vast EFL experience shortly after completing a stunning takeover at Wrexham in 2021. They have seen a proven operator guide the club into League One.
The Red Dragons are now pushing for a place in the Championship, as they chase an ultimate Premier League dream, and have seen their manager reach the 1,000-game mark. Parkinson has joined the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson, Carlo Ancelotti, Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho in hitting four figures.
Parkinson had plenty to celebrate on the occasion of his 1,000th game, as Wrexham grabbed a dramatic winner in a home date with Peterborough. Reynolds was among the interested observers and has posted a “congrats on number 1000, Phil” message on social media.
Parkinson has reached 197 games as Wrexham boss, with 122 victories picked up along the way. The Welsh outfit sit third in the League One table, level on points with Wycombe directly above them, and will be back in action on Tuesday when facing Port Vale in the Football League Trophy third round.
