Ryan Reynolds to skip Golden Globes despite nomination amid Blake Lively’s legal battle

Ryan Reynolds will skip the 82nd Golden Globe Awards despite being nominate amid his wife Blake Lively’s legal battle with Justin Baldoni.
Reynolds, who is supporting his wife amid her supposed “sexual harassment meeting” with her It Ends With Us co-star, is nominated for Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine, which grossed $1.33 billion worldwide.

The Gossip Girl star filed her lawsuit on December 20, accusing Baldoni of sexually harassing her and creating a toxic work environment on the set of their film, but he and his legal team have firmly denied the allegations and has filed a $250 million libel lawsuit against the New York Times for its reporting of Lively’s suit.

Deadpool & Wolverine is nominated in the cinematic and box office achievement category during this year’s 82nd annual ceremony.
Reynold’s co-star Hugh Jackman will also not be attending the awards show in Los Angeles, either, according to Deadline.
A source told Page Six Saturday that Reynolds and Lively’s decision to skip the Golden Globes was made well in advance of their legal drama with Baldoni and isn’t due to the scandal apparently.

The insider also pointed out that Lively’s It Ends With Us is not nominated and she was not booked as a presenter.
In Lively’s first complaint, she claimed Baldoni worked to tarnish her reputation with a team including his publicist Jennifer Abel and crisis PR Melissa Nathan, who previously worked with Johnny Depp.

Abel has denied waging a “smear campaign.”
She then launched more formal complaint on New Year’s Eve, doubling down on her accusations.
She filed her first complaint with the California Civil Rights Commission, but is now suing Baldoni in federal court in New York.

Her December 31 filing came on the same day Baldoni filed a $250 million libel action against the New York Times for its bombshell report on Lively’s first complaint.
On Thursday, Baldoni’s lawyer Bryan Freedman revealed that the actor intends to sue Lively herself, telling NBC: “We plan to release every single text messages between the two of them [sic].

“We want the truth to be out there. We want the documents to be out there. We want people to make their determination based on receipts.”
A source with knowledge of the case claimed that Baldoni’s lawsuit against Lively will be launched “soon,” reports People.
