Remembrance Day, Nov. 11, is observed in Commonwealth countries including the United Kingdom which honors members of the armed forces who died in the line of duty. Since World War I, the commemoration has consisted of multiple events, including the Service of Remembrance and the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance in London.
Each year, Remembrance Day events are attended by leading members of the royal family. Prince William, Kate Middleton, Princess Anne and King Charles III were among the crowd. It’s also royal protocol to wear black to Remembrance Day services and events
This year, the Princess of Wales paid homage to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, and her grandmother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II, wearing a set of earrings that belonged to each of them.
